Motor City Cinema Directors

Darian Berro

Independent Horror Filmmaker Darian Berro is a Writer/Director whose work includes the short films "What's in the Hall?", "New Printer", and most recently "Iron & Blood". When not on set, Darian is dedicated to 16/35/70MM film projection and preservation. He is a firm advocate of reviving the vibrant film culture in Detroit which led to Co-Founding 'Back Alley Cinema' 'MCCS' & 'Film Gluttons' with Nick Pobutsky

Nicholas S. Pobutsky

Detroit native Nicholas S. Pobutsky is a co-founder of Back Alley Cinema and MCCS, for which he is the main 16MM projectionist and editor, technical director, theater and graphic designer, and co-programmer. With an extensive background in formal puppetry, music, videography, and educated in the field of Art History, Nicholas maintains these areas of his interest by managing and preserving his own vast collection of media and films, as well as those of the PWB 16MM Archive and pieces from the museum of PuppetArt: The Detroit Puppet Theater.
