Motor City Cinema Directors

Darian Berro

Independent Horror Filmmaker Darian Berro (right) is a Writer/Director whose work includes the short films "What's in the Hall?", "New Printer", and most recently "Iron & Blood". When not on set, Darian is dedicated to 16MM & 35MM film projection and preservation. He is a firm advocate of reviving the vibrant film culture in Detroit which led to Co-Founding 'Back Alley Cinema' & 'Film Gluttons' with Nick Pobutsky

Kevin Maher

Kevin Maher has spent 25 years working for MGM, Warner Bros. and 20th Century Fox in their home entertainment divisions. He received a masters degree in film from Wayne State and writes the classics movie blog Top Ten Film Lists.  He is a board member of the non-profit Bay Community Theatre in Suttons Bay, Mi.  His favorite film is F.W. Murnau's Sunrise from 1927 or Jean Vigo's L'Atalante from 1934, depending on the day.

John Monaghan

John Monaghan is a former freelance theatre/film reviewer and educator who spends his retired life pursuing all things cinema.  He is currently trying to make sense of the piles of film prints and posters he has amassed over the last 40 years.  His major cinematic interests are pre-code Hollywood, Film Noir, and the works for Alfred Hitchcock.  His favorite film in 1959's North by Northwest.
